I remember the cruise going out in my '99 once, didn't work for about 2 - 3 days, then it came back and I never had another problem. Wait a couple of days and see if the same happens to you.
Cruise worked for 1 day, dealer doesn,t have a clue why it doesn,t work. any one else have a problem??
All GM dealers have access to SI ( Service Information) on the www through DealerWorld. The dealer can follow the strategy based diagnostics to determine and the repair the problem
Do you have a check engine light or any other problems? I had this happen on my '05 A4. Transmission started skipping gear and bucking on acceleration right after cruise control went out. Long story but dealer never fixed for more than a day and it would all start over again. Said same computer module controlled trans and cruise. GM ended up buying car back after a lemon law notice. Not suggesting you have similar problem but cruise control mysteriously going out (first happened 3rd day I owned) was always first sign problem had returned. Hopefully you will not have these problems. Good luck
No drivability problems,no codes stored. Dealer says manual switch checks OK by the scanner. By looking at the system in a 05 book its all data signal out of the BCM to the ECM. So it has to be one of the two.

while your driving lift the clutch or brake pedal w/the back of your foot and try to set the cruise, the switch might need to be adj.near the brake or clutch pedal.

Dealer finally called me back in for more tests, had to order BCM. Installed Bcm and then brake switch coded. Then SRS coded. Had to reprogram all systems in the car to the new BCM. Brake switch on order now.
