My C6 2005 vette does not like to start on comand, computer will say FOBS not detected and I have to move seats or open trunk for car to start. Is anyone else having this type of problems with push button start? Please respond if you are.
Have only had that one once. I changed the battery in the FOB. Hasn't come back. If that doesn't work, have your service department order you a replacement.
I had this and the Fobs were bad. Both of them. I guess I was standing in some solar wind or something. The dealer was able to quickly identify them as bad and get me new ones. One note, it gets worse and worse. Soon it will leave you stranded and nothing will get it to start. Go get it fixed asap.
Any other electronics present? When I carry my chipped key for my Dodge truck in my pocket in the 'Vette I sometimes get the "no fobs detected" message. Garage door opener? Cell phone? Charger? Alarm? Any RF towers/repeaters in the area? CB or ham radio?

Same thing with me if...
Bluejeans, and fob in that little change pocket...
And, cellphone sitting there charging.
If I move the fob to a different pocket, or disconnect the charger...
Bingo! It starts right up!
I have had the same problem using my cell phone in the C6. If it is on and charging using the 12 volt outlet in the glove compartment; you can have a problem starting the car untill you turn off the phone.

I wonder if this is a FCC issue?
FCC rules and regulations Part 15 says that any Part 15 device has no protection and no recourse from interference. Unfortunately, the fobs are Part 15 devices.
Found another cause; One of the 6 drive thru lanes at a local bank gives me the "No FOB Detected" message. Only the one lane, the others work fine. Has to be radio frequency interference.

This could be as bad as the damn steering lock on my 99. Never knew if I would get back home without a flatbed.
I would say this is another not so good idea of GM's.

Except this "FOB not detected" doesn't strand you anyplace. Only happened twice and all I had to do was install the FOB in the glove compartment socket and drive away.

Happened to me one time. Also had the fob to my wife's Pontiac Vibe in the same pocket. Problem went away as soon as I moved the Vibe fob to the other pocket.
Purchased my 2005 c6 and it only started for a couple days before factory defect happened. The service tech contacted GM and informed him a problem with contact with a fuel sensor was at fault. Apparently the clip at the factory was not set and only made contact a few times before i could not start it. GM said it is aware of the problem. No recall GM?. Anyone thats not sure should contact your dealer before getting stranded. GM roadside assistance were great. Goodluck everyone. I never have this problem with my 63 split!
