Are kooks headers with b&b bullets going to be crazy loud ? will I end up needing to get a little bit quiter mufflers. I defintly want that muscle car sound, but at highway speeds I want to be able to hear myself think. Having a convertible i am a little bit worried that it will be to much. I know this is a hot topic, does any one have any suggestions on a good combination of headers and mufflers. Kooks seem to be one of the prefered headers. what are the other favorite headers ?

Much too loud for me. I like high flow quiet mufflers like the ones that come on the car. They don't penalize performance, and they don't act as cop callers for miles around either.
It's actually oposite of what you might think as far as having the convertible and how loud the exhaust will be. I've got the borla stingers and I can hear them less when I have the top down because you get all the other noises to listen too(wind, other cars, etc) When you have the top up you will hear it more since there will be no background noise!
I have Kooks, hi flos and Corse Sports. Not too loud but there is zero resonance in the top up condition. I nixed the Bullets due to supposed excesive resonance which can be bothersome. The Corsas don't have the side pipe sound I wanted but the ones I had on my C5 are no longer available and they were 1) cheap and 2) had an awesome sound. I guess try to hear as many as you can but you might have to take a pig in a poke and make your best guess.
It shouldn't void warranty, but I have spoken to a C6 owner who's had warranty work denied because of it. My advice is to ask the dealer which you would end up taking it to. Some are more lenient than others.

I love my Bullets. They are loud, but fine cruising on the highway, not intrusive at all. With headers that car will sound maniacal. It might be a little too loud in the cabin under load around 1800 RPM's.

First let me say that I totally agree with the "if its too loud you are to old" phillosiphy. That being said, maybe somthing a tad quieter, what about ditching my bullets for some ghls to go with the kooks or should i keep the bullets and go with a different set of headers ?? For some reason this has turned into a decision that is consuming most of my life right now. Any and all help would probably save me from loosing my business.
I don't think the brand of headers will make any difference, just the cats and mufflers. Why not install them with your bullets, and if it's too loud, then switch to a system that has actual muffles.
Also, the guy I talked to said that the headers didn't really make it louder when he wasn't stomping on the gas.
