when I release the clutch on my 6spd in 1st gear there is a slight hesitation in power then it kicks in.....is this normal or am I not using the clutch/gas correctly.....thanks
Don't know, what rpm are you at when the clutch begins to engage? If its too low(500rpm) it will momentarily bog down. I have found that 1000 rpm works fine.

Normal. Torque management strikes again, in combination with your driving style. It's indicative of so-called "granny shifting" (pausing ever so slightly when coming out of one gear and engaging the next) followed by a large throttle opening.

I agree. I also, sometimes, get it in 2nd and 3rd.
It is "Launch Control", which keeps the HP down to about 290 HP instead of the listed 400 HP, regardless of how much rpm you give it, 2nd and 3rd gears are a little better. You need to have the LS2 Edit done to get rid of the Launch Control and Torque Management lag/bog.

Some vehicles (trucks, SUVs) with manual transmissions have an throttle linkage dampener to let the engine down to idle speed slowly during shifts to keep you from engaging the clutch on an idling engine. Newsflash: Corvettes DO NOT have such a dampener (or throttle linkage either)...Conclusion: Corvettes with manual transmissions are meant to be shifted expeditiously, not slowly and deliberately like your grandmother's 40-year-old Falcon.
You will have to learn to shift quickly, and ease in a little throttle before/as you re-engage the clutch...it takes a few days, but you'll get the hang of it. And, be careful about how much throttle you ease in...you'll be wondering how you ever thought it was "hesitating".

Are there any hand held programmers like Superchips or Hypertech on the market for the C6? The car is bone stock except for CAGS and K&N filters so I don't think I need a custom tune.
LS2edit does it for 05's. You can adjust torque management, and remove launch control, traction control, AND wheel Hop management.
I called 21st Century Muscle Cars and they said you could adjust timing pulled, but the LS2 edit would not completely get rid of it yet. I had the LS2 edit when I got my headers and cam and I believe it was adjusted like your chart shows, but my car still does not pull in 2nd and begining of 3rd like it should. Maybe its my imagination.
This is so frustrating!! My new 2006 (11/25/2006), Monterey red, Z51 is impossible to shift smoothly from 0 to 1st, 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. After that it is okay. I know nothing about cars but I think it is loosing RPM's too quickly. Even people who want to "try it" say the shifting is terrible.
I also experience "loping" when in 1st or 2nd while driving at "neighborhod" speeds-gain and lose, gain and lose.
Finally, when I back out of my driveway, I better set the wheels straight before going forward or else the front end "jumps"-much like a 4 wheel drive vehicle does when in 4 wheel drive and turning too sharply.
Please help!!!!! This is very frustrating. I'm ready to go back to my C5!!
