Default Trouble codes with airbox

Well, I finally got Autotap running, and did some logging with my car. With my DIY airbox, my ltrms are withing +2 to +4% across the board, so there is no reason for any trouble codes on my car. After all of the posts I've read, I'm nearly convinced that people aren't getting good seals, and air is leaking in between the MAF and the intake, causing a lean condition.

I'm doing headers/cat back soon, and I'll monitor that as well. I'm not making any tuning changes until after I've done all my mods, just logging for the sake of knowledge.

Installed a SLP Blackwing, quick install, uses stock mounting for the air bridge, didn't touch the MAF to intake connection, and no codes !!!!

I looked over my scans from before and after the Halltech install. Both scans show average LTFT's around 4%. I think most codes could be traced to an improper install.

I can tell you that the Callaway Honker was flowbench tested to achieve ZERO leak, period.

I saw the Engineers there once totally seal off the inlet and then test it to prove (to themselves) that their design would not leak

FWIW, even the stock unit (when sealed off at the inlet) had an air leak(s) between the two ends I forget the % it leaked, but clearly, it was enough to take notice

I hope this helps

interesting... The stock coupler (MAF to intake manifold) has plenty of overlap and nice clamps, but anything can be installed improperly.

A leak upstream of the MAF wouldn't cause a problem. Glad to know some of us haven't had problems, as it seems a lot of folks have.
