ok just wondering if anybody has any REAL info on swapping the 06 wheel into an 05. is the airbag actually different? what would the new one cost? anywhere to get it other than a dealer? this thread is NOT a discussion of why or why not to swap. if you dont approve of the swap thank you but please do not reply. I am looking for true info ONLY. thanks for all the help!

this is what i know:
The 2006 steering wheel in ebony leather without paddle shifts is under PN 15806311 and lists for $164.13
the airbag doesnt have over the counter availability yet but lists for about $670 and plugs right into an '05, the wheel/bag is a direct boltin swap
that info was taken from digitalcorvettes
you can check gmparts and fred beans websites with that steering wheel part number and it shows up. still waiting for the 2006 airbag part #...

ok so i guess we'll just have to wait for the airbag. thanks for the info brian. hopefully that bag price will go down. $700 something for a steering wheel will be hard to swallow. although i guess the 05 airbag would be worth something on ebay!
