lighting off the cats faster? what does that mean? and do they coat the inside of the plumbing too? is that how you might get gains from powdercoating? how much does this cost?
From what I've read and from Shopdog, the C6's cats were placed very close to the exhaust manifold so they would "light" or get to operating temp. quicker for emissions purposes. I believe some with long tubes were throwing codes, because the relocated cats were too far away from the engine, and weren't lighting quick enough. Jet Hot coats the inside of everything, except the cats. This, along with the outside coating, keeps the gasses hotter along the way so the cats light as designed.
Also, it's not powder coating, it's ceramic. Total cost, including shipping, for the headers and catted X was $500.
They do if you opt for the 'sterling' finish as most do...you can also get it in other colors such as the more subtle (and IMO more attractive) black as pictured above.
