Default Parking brake

I was looking at the underside of my car on the lift and noticed that there are no cables going to the rear calipers for the parking brake. Is the parking break tied into the hydraulics? How is this done? I don't have a shop manual yet to read about this.

It does have a mechanical park brake cable. The cable is self adjusting. The rear rotors are a "hat" design and use a "shoe type" parking brake mechanism.

You may not have noticed the cable since it is above the tunel plate.
