I used a 275-40-17 on a WS6 firebird wheel and they fit great. My car is a Z-51 and there is no clearence issues with the brakes. The 17" wheel has more sidewall and the M/T drag radial in that size will provide plenty of traction, maybe too much.

Thanks for that info. The only problem I see is that that Firebird/Camaro 17"wheels were all 9" wide, the width limits the size of the drag radial width you could fit on the wheel.

True, but the 275x40 (very common drag radial size) fits well (basically ideal) on a 9" rim.
Front and rear wheels require different offsets, make sure they add the width on the correct side of the center of the wheel to create the correct rear offset.
Old thread but I just saw your post and it got me thinking.
Ok I could buy some OEM fronts, have the wheel widened so that it would have a 79 mm offset. I guess the wheel would be widened towards the inside offset by 23 mm. I think I would have them widened to 18x11 and run the 315 BFG DR's. Could I even go to a 85 mm offset with an 11 inch wheel??
I think this is possible, correct??
Now my only other concern would be will OEM fronts fit over the brake calipers on the rear of a Z51 coupe? Does anyone know or has anyone tried this to see if they fit?
I am trying to have my drag radials ready to go when my car gets here. I need to be very sure of the specs before I order or I could end up with some wheels that won't fit.
