Default Blower or Heads/Cam?

I have done the headers.

Next is the major upgrade. I have no experience with superchargers.

Here is what I am looking for:

1)hp/tq up to 500 at wheels. I don't want to get into doing the drivetrain/rear end yet.

2) Reliability - I take long trips in the car.

3) low end performance

I read about the Mag s/c and like what it offers (I would opt for the intercooler on it though).

I am thinking that the Lingenfelter head/cam package (and it comes with 2 year warantee) is probably where I should be, but interested in people's experience with daily drivers/long trip cars with s/c.

thanks for thoughts!

Love my ATI P1SC that 21st CMC did... With a little custom design by the guys at 21st 620rwhp and 518rwtq @5.5psi... Drives like a stock vette, until the go fast pedal is pushed...
Supercharged ALL the way... It's all about air and gas... How you choose to get it there is up to you...

Also - the rear end and drive train (or is that bottom end?? lol) .... I would imagine tearing it up from 1st through third with that power/tq is gonna waste it eventually.

Hi,
we can help you with your pacage. WE have a sale going on right now for the Magnuson and the ATI packages.
With the ATI or Mag we can achieve the 500 hp target very easily.

give me a call and I can discuss it with you or email me at Lou@LGMotorsports.com and leave me your phone number to call.

Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

Get the Magnacharger, it has everything you want 1, 2, and 3 from above. Get it from LPE or 21MC and you have the warranty, best of both worlds.

Stock bottom end (for now) will go with forged internals for next mod, then.....MORE BOOST...I'd like to see what she'll do with 11psi... Some have run 11psi on the stock bottom end...(not that brave)
As far as the rear end, ECS built it, and added stiffer clamping spring and beefed up output shafts to compliment the gears...

Depends on the heads... modded LS2's or AFR's...about the same if you go with a "full h/c package" and AFR's,vs procharger, you will arrive at similar numbers, with LOT's of potential either way...

What about the auto transmission? How does the A6 compare in durability to the A4? How about with mods like FI? I want to purchase an automatic car because of traffic, but want to modify the car and don't know if the A6 will manage the power without serious work.

Haven't seen any A6's with serious hp numbers yet... Too early to tell IMO...

A few us members in the northern Virginia area who have upgraded have gone with the LPE head/cam packages. I love SC and probably would have gone with one but my car is brand new and didn't want to hassle with dealers denying warranty work because of the obvious modifications. LPE head work etc is less obvious and has a 2 year warranty. Got their 403 package with the beafed up bottom end. Drawback is that it is expensive compared to a SC. Since your vette is over a year old and you probably have worked out any bugs in the car, you may want to go the SC route. They are reliable and give a lot of bang for the buck.

See if you like the whine of a SC... to me, the sound of a heads&cam is waaaaaaaaaay better...

Do them both...
The Magnuson is a weekend project for a good mechanic. Expect heads and cam to take longer... Do the Supercharger first, then go for the cams and heads... or take it the other 'way round.
Once you are on a power quest, there is no stopping until you have done it all
