Question for those with Bullets
I put my own Bullets on twice. Once on the stock H pipe, then again after I put my LG system on. There is definitely a "proximity" issue on the passenger side pipe. On mine, in two different places: near the rear corner of the floor pan and also to the side of the differential case. I wasn't so much concerned about the heat issue as the tendency for a mild vibrating/clunking on certain turns or brake applications. I may just have to put it on the lift again and loosen the LG connections to make some adjustments.
What I did today was remove the pipe, shorten the black rubber hose by about 1 1/4 inch. When I reinstalled Bullet pipe, I did not push it all the way into the H pipe. This gave me just enoough hose clearance. The next problem is the one that you mention. It is a real balancing act but I was able to clear the pan with room for bumps, and the side, and still get them to level at the tips. All you can do is find the magic spot of in and out of the H pipe and the spin left or right. The last tweak was the slightest bend in the welded hangers to even out with the drivers side. Patience and a little luck and I nailed it. Prozac would help too...

Tip alignment was a bear too, as I cannot seem to get them level &/or even at the same time.
The B&B X-pipe was a disaster. I ended up putting the factory H-pipe back on, as the X-pipe was off (one side longer than the other) to where it was creating an interference on the driver's fuel tank guard and passenger side of the tranny bell housing.
The only way to fix this POS X-pipe appears to be to take it to a muffler shop and have them re-bevel the passenger side flare taking about 1/4" off of it and re-flaring.
I'd also like to get it off the floor pan and diffuser further, but the only way I can see to do that is to buy longer rubber rear mounts or re-drill the steel brackets holding the rubber rear mounts to drop them about 3/4 to 1". That would help the floor pan clearance too, I think (as every time I move this damn thing it seems to create another interference).
I can't imagine the pain in the a$$ that all this tweaking would be if I didn't have it on a lift.
All this grief...but...the sound is so damn
...that it's worth it...I had people stopping short on me in the other lane to listen to just the idle!!!!.In response to "drone" &/or sound level...fill in the blank..."If it's too loud, you're too XXX." For the "drone"...move your foot 1/4" or up/downshift. Popping on decel is pretty neat to me...but if you want to minimize it all go with an X-pipe...that fits.
