Default LPE 403 package complete

Just got my dyno results back from Lingenfelter and am quite happy with the results, 470 RWHP and 460 RWTQ on an M6 with only 100 miles. I originally started off with there heads and cam package but then decided to upgrade to the 403 package. The below results are with their new cam but without the FAST intake manifold. Also have Kooks headers, cats & X pipe, and the LPE air intake. Of course, these are RWHP. Car started out with 344 RWHP and 352 RWTQ.

Believe it or not, the wife is going to have to break it in for me. Looks like I may not be able to return until June now. But that's OK, Rummy says the Army is not over stressed!!

Excellent results; looks accurate with the headers and LPE intake. I think they ball park this to make 432 with just the 403 package.

You'll have more than enough power; NOW GET YOU SOME STOP

My recommendations would be rotor's and pads; at least put some hawk or PFCs on there.

Oh, I forgot to ask; are these corrected numbers

Since he's going to give you the key fob, maybe you can spring for the gas?

Jagcvette -- Godspeed while away and look forward to that ride on your return!

Where are your other cams and heads? Did you give them back to LPE?

The thing that keeps you in the ballpark on the street with the C6 Z06, at least if the latter is stock.

What does the Z06 dyno at? Does the difference in weight really make up for the difference in HP?
New C6 ZO6 with headers lays down 483 RWHP
Hmm guess I answered my own question....

So 483 with headers ... the 403 package is close to that ... but then with the weight difference....hmm almost worth saving up to buy a Z06..

What if you SC the 403 package?

It's really apples and oranges, which is why I used this smilie -->

Just go read the c6 Z06 section sometime and you'll find all sorts of arguments about the c6 versus the Z06, modding, etc.

Also, the horsepower numbers provided by LPE are for a tame cam, which I have in my 403. My car idles at 650 rpm, although I have headers so you can hear the valve train. Without those headers I'd bet most folks wouldn't be able to tell it wasn't stock.

Indeed, by way of comparison, 21st Century put a "mid" cam in midnite902's 403 and it got to (and just beyond) the magical 500 rwhp mark. link

There's a LOT of room to be had by changing cams, but not everyone is into that. After all, I have no plans to increase my cam (ha ha, ya never know........)

What if you SC the 403 package?
You answer another one of your own questions, here, too. The 403 package is forged, which not only should provide great longevity, but I would guess make it a great candidate for forced induction, although I'm not sure of the compression ratio of the 403.

I've had the great fortune to drive Steve's car with the LPE 403 motor. He has the stock exhaust on it and just cruising around, it pulls away perfectly from a light with a under 1,000rpm clutch engagement, perfect idle, perfect/quiet cruising characterstics, etc.

But lay into the gas and it builds speed very, very quickly and actually has a nice sounding bite to the exhaust, guess the headers open it up a little bit.

The greatest thing about Steve's car is that it looks totally stock and nearly sounds stock. Without the headers, the sound would be indistinguishable from stock.

And, there is one other advantage of the 403 over a Z06. . .you can take the top off a coupe or lower the top in a vert neither of which can be done with a Z06.

A&A installed my 403 stroker. I went with a mid size cam 232/236 581/588 on 114's. For exhaust I used Kooks and Magnaflows. For the intake I used Fast and a Halltech. We also decided on ETP 225's for the heads.

My best dyno is 518 rwhp and 498 rwtq.

I prefer the removeable roof (southern California) with the C-6 and the Z-51 ride over the Z-06. The car looks stock, kind of a sleeper until you hear it.

It has easily pulled away from 996 twin turbo's,a Lambo Gallardo, a Bentley Continental GT (from a roll) and a new Z-O6 just to name a few. The car is very fast.

The idle at 900 rpm's is a little lopy, but thats what I wanted.

I am very satisfied with the package and performance

What if you SC the 403 package?
The compression ratio is 11:1 instead of the stock 10.9:1 so it is safe for SC. Plus you have much stronger connecting rods which tend to be the first thing to break due in the engine to excessive power.
