Default Question on B&M shifter install

Received my B&M shifter today, and I'm looking to install it tomorrow. After reviewing the instructions, I'm looking for hints on removing the passenger air bag panel without breaking it. Thanks.

are you reading the c5 instructions? you only remove the console and the trim on the pass side

No, for the C6, you start on item 10. It reads to remove the passender side air bag panel, then disconnect the module. I'm assuming that the panel is the dark plastic piece that mounts the air bag 'off' light., and that it simply clips in. But it doesn't want to let go, and I don't want to crack the panel. I may need to remove the console lid to gain easier access to the right side of the panel. Thought someone with an install under their belt might know of a trick to get it out.

I don't think I actually had to do anything. As I recall is just unscrewed the cover and left the wiring in place and worked around it. Screwed it back in place.

Make sure you buy a rubber stopper/plug (like an end cap for a PVC pipe). Take an knife and cut a slit (shaped like a X) on the top of the plug and slide it over the top of the shifter. This will give you added insulation since there will be a larger hole left in the gasket (the C6 base is larger than the B&M).

My shifter works great. No vibration, no noise and really nice throws.

This rubber plug, does it slide over the shifter, and rest under the shift ****? Does it act like a damnper or something? I did not get an opportunity to work on it last night. Maybe this afternoon. I'll take the B&M to a hardware store and get the correct size plug.
So, did you removed the waterfall part of the console? Guess I need to read the instructions more closely. The pics are not the best quality. Thanks.
