What size wheels can you use with a minitub? I have heard 12" from lingenfelter but the upper control arm looks too close to allow another 2 inches. Is it that the wheels also move out a 1/4 nch to the fender?
My plans were to have the stock wheels widened to 12" by Weld wheels allowing the use of 345's or back to stock if I wanted which precludes the use of wider fenders.
With a mini tub there is defintely room for 12" wheels. ACE makes an 11" that fits within the stock fenders now. The wheels LPE recommends with the Mini-tub are HRE with a custom offset/backspace. So I suspect you are correct in that they move the wheel edge out as well expand it inward.

I want to just widen the stock wheels to 12" but it looks to be too close to the control arm. I may be limited to a 11.5" widened wheel. I am not paying 1000+ for one HRE wheel when I can get all my wheels widened for 800 and have a stock look. I supose I can use a 4-5mm spacer which I have used with no issues many times in the past.
The mini-tub itself is a free thing to do if you can fiberglass the inside. The wheel well inserts are made by buying another pair and cutting them oversized so they overlap each other and riveting them together. You need to limit the shock travel too but that still doesn't justify a 900 dollar kit to me.
The rear 345's require a 12" and on the viper they look too stretched on the 13. A 11.5 inch will fit nice with the Z06 rear 325's.
