Simple install except for getting the radiator shroud in and out, it is curved at the bottom around some fittings if
I remember, anyway, the instructions are easy and the piece is . It would of taken about 1 hour except for fighting with the shroud.
I did one, plan on an hour just to remove the radiator shroud and another hour to re-install it. Add the time it takes to measure and cut the shroud and the time it takes to install the airbox and the filter and it's a 4 hour+ job.
Do you recommend the LPE for driving in South Florida? I'm really afraid of hydrolocking and we get spontaneous strong rains sometimes. I really wanted the LPE until this risk came about.
I can understand your concern, these cars are very expensive. We have had several members report being caught in heavy rainstorms with no problems at all. The thing you have to watch out for is deep standing water. Some will say it's hard to stop in time when approaching a flooded road. I guess you'll just have to make your own decision, but I can tell you that we have sold a lot of these air intakes, and not had a single problem.
A good rule of thumb is if the water is deep enough to touch the bottom of your front fascia, then don't drive through it. Most people wouldn't drive a stock Corvette through water that deep, so you will just have to decide for yourself.
