Default Fikse Wheels

Anyone out there have any experience with this company. I'm looking at new wheels, and trying to find excellent quality and service. Not sure what manufacturer (or reseller) to go with, but if you have any input it would be appreciated.

Also, I'm not sure whether to go with 19" all around and slightly wider wheels (9" front & 10 1/2" rear), or stay stock at 18" x 8 1/2" front and 19" x !0" rear.

Thanks in advance.

I'm all

...this car is sitting on a set of Callaway-specific, lightweight forged wheels measuring 9.5” x 18” up front and 10.5” x 18” in back, complete with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires measuring 275/35ZR18 and 305/30ZR18 respectively.

I know these wheels have endured some of the toughest testing conditions during the building and testing of the Carlisle Callaway Corvette (seen here) and I am not aware of any issues w/ those wheels then, or now

I hope this helps

Default Fikse

Fikse is a good wheel. You can order with custom offsets and fit and 11in rim inside the rear fender. Same on fornt a 9in will fit with the correct offset.

Other possibilities are:

CCW - http://www.ccwheel.com/files/home.php
and
HRE - http://www.hrewheels.com/home/

They are great wheels, I used to be a dealer for them as well as for Kinesis. Problem with both companies is build time. Corvettes are a relatively small market, and almost every set of rims is custom built, so build times can be excessive. If you can wait, OR they have them in stock, then you can't go wrong. Both Fikse, as well as Kinesis, build awesome wheels.

We are a Fikse dealer!!! I get the question 19's or 18's?? I would always go with the 18's because of the tire selection. The tire companies are making head way in the 19 inch market but they aren't that good now. Let me know if I can get you a quote.

If Callaway uses them, that speaks volumes about their quality.

Look like Fikse Profil 5 wheels to me! Nothing special (other than them being Fikse that is) but the width and offset but that holds true for all fikse wheels. They are all 3-piece light weight forged units and are among the best wheels for the price you can buy. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I ordered a set of highly polished Profil 5S's from Fikse's largest east coast reseller (in MD BTW) for my 65 El Camino (pseudo Pro-Touring vehicle), 17x8 with P245/45ZR17 Nitto 555's fronts and 17x9.5 with P285/40ZR17 Nitto 555's in the rear mounted, balanced and shipped to my door for $3600.00 which was the best deal I could find at the time. From the time I faxed the fitment data sheet to them until they arrived at my door was about a month. A couple of weeks to fabricate them, four days shipping to the dealer in MD, a week in his shop for mounting/balancing and a few more days to me in MA. I'd love to get some for my 05 C6 but not this year.

This speaks volumes louder than Callaway.

(Daytona, Florida) - Of the 62 teams that competed in the 43rd annual running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, most boasted Fikse USA Inc's forged modular race wheels, making Fikse the largest wheel supplier for the round-the-clock race, as well as for the entire Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series.
During the 24 hour long race, teams put 70,609 miles on Fikse wheels, in one day, with no wheel incidents. No team was forced to pit or garage a car due to any Fikse wheel issue -- a record unmatched by any other wheel manufacturer. In addition, Fikse completed three separate design and engineering projects for three different teams, delivering custom manufactured race wheel solutions before the race with time to spare.

Fikse builds the wheel of choice for such renowned race teams as Brumos Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, Howard-Boss Motorsports, Bell Motorsports, Doran Lista Motorsports and others, eclipsing the foreign wheel manufacturers who once dominated American sports car racing. In the 2005 Rolex 24, 20 of the 29 Daytona Prototypes and 13 of the 33 GT-class cars selected American-made Fikse wheels.

"Fikse wheels have what it takes - proven durability, optimized design and light weight - to withstand this grueling round-the-clock race," says Chief Designer Jim Fikse. "We strived from the start to offer a winning mix: competitive wheels, friendly service to our customers and excellent technical support."

"When this series was launched, Fikse was the first wheel manufacturer to step up with a new wheel designed specifically for the Daytona Prototypes," adds Chief Operating Officer Matt Fikse. "Seeing the activity in this series, it is clear that the momentum of the Daytona Prototypes program is unstoppable. All of us at Fikse are honored to be able to support such outstanding teams, owners and constructors with an American-made race wheel that leads the field."
Fikse customers in the Rolex series give the product strong reviews. "Being a race car builder, I'm, always looking for several things in wheels," says Dave Klym of FABCAR Engineering, a Daytona Prototype car constructor. "Number one is quality and safety, obviously. Number two is service - which is just as important. Fikse is right there when I need them. Fikse wheels are beautiful and safe. We've run thousands of miles on hundreds of Fikse wheels, and we've never had any problems."

The more than 1,000 Fikse wheels at the event were tended to by a crew from Fikse Motorsport Service. The six-person staff operated an on-site service facility day-and-night throughout the race. Fikse customers were able to obtain spare parts, repairs and the occasional hot cup of coffee as the hours raced by.

Fikse supplies race team with competition wheels directly through the TeamFikse Motorsport Program. For more information, contact motorsport@fikse.com.

I agree, the BS stops when the green flag drops. Those wheels have been put to the test and futher.

I'm all
I had Fiske Wheels on my C5 wide body. Wheels were fantastic and factory support was excellent. Only downside was the cost! I never had to add air,----never. You get what you pay for. HRE is another one to consider. CCW is less expensive but still a quality forged wheel. I just put CCW 505's on my C6 and I am totally satisfied. Went with 18X10 and 19X11. Took the car to Daytona and John mounted and balanced them for me and even packed and shipped my old wheels. I was impressed that it only took 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz. to balance the wheels. Great service and great people to deal with. Only downside I see here is keeping polished, non clear coated wheels clean.
