I took the whole freakin' shroud out and cut it perfectly according to the template and it NEVER fit, are you saying they goofed up some templates??? I was thinking about taking the shroud out permanently, but if they messed up the template I'm gonna be pissed!
The lower section of the precut shroud from Vararam is completely removed. To make this thing fit right, they are saying to cut the shroud completely off from tab to tab making it flush with the crossmember. They cut off the tabs with the push pins at the bottom also. Looking at shocker's picture, I'm not sure how he got it to fit that way as I had to remove much more. Vararam is trying to tell me Chevrolet has variances up to 1" or so in the hole locations on the crossmembers. I find that hard to believe.
I just kept on cutting little amounts at a time, until I got it to install perfectly.
I hear ya shocker, but I never had any problems installing others such as Breathless. They certainly could do a better job. I'm apparently not the only one that took out the AC condenser! :=( How hard would it be to fix the template issue? Speaking of the template, Breathless gives you a nice crdboard piece. Vararam sent me 2 pieces of photo copied paper scoth taped together! Actually it's all Breathless Performance's fault because they jacked the price up so much over the C5, right?
I was just trying to save a few bucks.

I had no problem with the install but I did bust the condensor b/c I left a tool where it could fall through the hole & it did. I was back at the dealer the next day for a brand new expensive condensor.
I agree that I prefer the Breathless Intake, I had it on my ZO6 but I refuse to pay their cost for the intake for the C6! And although the Vararam template was lacking the total install still didn't take much time or work. Could it have been easier? Yes, but to save $200 it was well worth it and I like the way it looks once installed!

Just a heads up for Fred Bean. My local dealer whom I purchased the car from and sponsors our Corvette club wanted $331. 00 (15% off) for the condenser. Got it in 2 days from Bean's for $209.00!
