Has anyone have problems with a 2-3 shift? Feels like it goes into the gear but then nothing happen's....and it always happens to me like in a 5900-6100 rpm shift...But works fine at like 4500-5500 ..?
Me too. Someone here suggested the open palm technique which allows the shifter to lign itslef up. Originally, I thougth that was hogwash but have been very pleased with the result.

hmm..I thought it was just me. Happened to me on the track once and on the street once. It seemed to go to nowhere land. Felt like it went into gear, just took a little more umph but it just went....well, not a clue, but not into third.
Thanks for the feedback though maybe my pressure plate was going bad or something like that...someone else told me that at the track the other night just to use my wrist .palm open. but i still missed 3rd 3 times...best time was 12.80@114.00 60 foot was 2.18..need tires mine about almost bald...
I had the same problem on occasion until I used the open (relaxed) palm shift and let the centering spring do its thing. However, sometimes I would forget and try to slam third with a firm grip. Whenever I would do this, I risked hanging it up without hitting 3rd. So I went with the B&M shifter...Problem solved. If you can consistently shift up to 3rd with a relaxed palm, you will most likely never miss this shift. Problem was I couldn't always do it.

for your 2-3 upshift only, do the following:
1. With hand on ball of shifter while accelerating through second gear,
2. Unwrap your fingers,
3. Point all fingers straight to roof. This will 'lock' your wrist (try it now)
4. Now, when you reach your shift point, just push sharply FORWARD with the meaty part of your palm, as fast as you can. Don't be hesitant! Do not try to direct the shift to a gate. Leave your fingers up and off the shifter during the shift.
I have yet to miss a 2-3 shift this way, and I had lots of trouble before. It now feels almost as good as the good old comfortable 1-2 'yank straight back' that we all know how to do with no trouble.
This shift couldn't be more simple. Just push staight forward from second and the mechanism will drive you into third. No side pressure. Same with 4th to 5th. Straight back, no side pressure.

Are you power shifting? 2 to 3 is much harder when power shifting for the tendency to force. B&M!!!! Not that it will save the synchros over time, but hey, what's money for?

This happened to me a few times the first couple months after I got the car. But not once in the last 10 months. I'm not sure what I'm doing different, maybe just not rushing my shifts so much.

I do not "open palm" any shift and have not had the problem since switching to the B&M. Also switched from Redline to Synchromax and shifts feel smoother but hate to post "feels".

You can not tell the difference from OEM appearance with the B&M.

Just ordered AFT 225 heads from Andy at A&A Corvette in CA. They should be here early next week. Roger will get the rest of the equipment, 224 228 LSA114 cam, underpulley etc. When it is done, Mike Norris will tune and dyno it. Then, off to the track!
