Default Help, slow C6

Guys I have an 06 Z51 MN 800 miles, and it just feels slow - won't even break the tires loose in first gear with throttle only ( of course all traction control turned off). Is this normal, I don't mind traction control but at times I prefer it to be controlled by my right foot. Can you guys break your tires loose in straight line with throttle only?

Thanks guys, I thought something is wrong. I'll see if the dealer can check it, closest tuner I heard of is 200 miles away - Marietta, Ga.(800 miles on car)

I feel your pain! Every time I take the C5 out I feel it's just as fast if not faster, but I think it might be in my head!

take it to the track and see what happens. i can't break my lose in first gear either but it runs 113.69mph trap speed....gm says these cars could run 12.5 @115mph...so i am not too concern.

My mn6 z51 with 1k miles will break loose in first and second with throttle. Below 60 deg first is useless. Below 40 1st and second are useless. Come on spring!!

Wonder what the guys at the dealer are going to say if you drive in your new Z51 and say "this thing is slow. I cant spin the tires" ...probably laugh then show you a Z06....

I can break the tires loose in summer in 1st and 2nd with all too much ease. Its the reason why I struggle at the track. Come on spring

can you define 'throttle only' ?

do you mean ? when pulling away from a stop, nice a slow (read normal), once the clutch is fully release and the car is now moving along in first gear, you press the throttle in an attempt to break-traction/spin the tires ? are you referring to the ability to spin the tires while at speed (without using the clutch to raise the rpms) ?

I had trouble breaking tires in 80+ degrees when I 1st got my car. Now I have 9k miles and it is 30+ degrees and I can break them in 3rd gear.

I would wait until about 3k miles when your engine breaks in. I noticed considerably more power when it broke in.

To Zig, yes once the clutch is fully engaged, the car moving slowly. then you floor it, it will not break the tires loose.

I don't know. We're talking about Mr. Badwrench and you say "couldn't hurt". I'd have to disagree.

When mine had under 2000 miles on it, it wouldn't break the tires loose either and accelerated like a dog. My C5 felt faster, no joke. Once I hit about 2000 miles, it woke up and was a different car. I couldn't keep the tires planted even with only about 3/4 throttle. And that's before I did any mods, and on the base car (not Z51).
