Let me say this in regard to the B&M. I installed mine last week, and I'm not all that pleased with it. The plastic bushings that replace the stock rubber ones allow drivetrain vibration to buzz the shifter. At least, I assume that is what's causing this issue? Plus the 4-5 and 5-6 upshifts are still as vague as with the stock shifter, but require much more effort. Overall, I'd give this mod a C-, and would not have made the change had I known these problems. Maybe the more expensive shifters are really the way to go, as I did select the B&M based on price(Corvettes of Houston).

Euro, are the plastic mounting bushings a solid fit, or do they allow some movement?
[]Corvettes of Houston was $175 for the B&M earlier this week when I ordered one. Don't forget to get a CAGS defeater too.[/QUOTE] Ordered mine and it was shipped the next day.
They could be aluminum. Thought they were hard plastic, as I could not pick it up with a magnet when I dropped one in to the TT tunnel. Anyway, its a solid fit, and when the bolts are tightened, there is no dampening from drivetrain viberation. I've been giving this install some thought, and perhaps I didn't tighten the #10 torx and nylon locking nut that holds the shifter handle onto the base sufficiently. There are a couple of O-rings inside, secured by this bolt, and if I didn't tighten it properly, maybe thats the source of the buzz? I remember I got a phone call during that part if the install prodecure, and may have returned and forgotten to finish tightening the bolt. Think I'll check it later today.
Good, I hope thats the source of my buzz issue. I'll post the findings, then take out a membership at the gym, so I can get in shape to shift it
Keep shifting it and you won't need a gym membership
Did it move freely before it was installed in the car? The reason I ask is because I installed a Hurst shifter in my C4 that was really stiff before I did little reworking. I fixed the interferance fit their amateurish manufacturing gave on some supposed to be sliding fit parts.
Well, got modivated, so went to the garage and removed all related compoments and inspected the before mentioned bolt. It was tight, but removed it anyway to inspect the o-rings. They were fine, so re-installed everything, test drove the car and the buzz is still with me. I wonder if I removed the aluminum bushings and re-installed the stock rubber ones, how that would effect the shifter? Any thoughts, anyone tried this? Can't live with this issue. Guess there's another shifter in my future

Replacing the solid bushings with the stock rubber ones might work. You have inadvertently created a resonant system and anything you do to damp it will help.
I haven't had a C6 B&M in my hands yet. Are the O-Rings you mentioned what connects the upper and lower lever sections? If so, is there empty space in the lump on the lever where the O-rings live? If both of those are true, filling the space with lead shot might help. I've seen that quiet a couple of shift levers on S-Box econo cars.
Unfortunately, I don't know how you would fill that space with lead shot short of taking the whole shifter out of your car or turning your car upside down
It's a bit of a long shot, but might give you another idea.
i have tested B&M hurst breathless performance and even a experimental shifter in my c6 i have been working with a hurst developement guy here in GA and the hurst and the breathless out perform the b&m so make sure you do some research before you buy it
