headers or catback exhaust
just got a new c6 coupe, have a question for you guys which would be the most silent, headers with stock mufflers. headers withaftermarket mufflers, or just aftermarket exhaust with stock headers? trying to decide which way to go really dont want a whole lot of noise in the car. have been looking at new system that flowmaster just brought out for the c6, there add sounds pretty good, what do you guys think? burt

Stay stock until you can prioritize what you really want.

2. stock exhaust w/ aftermarket cats

4. aftermarket cat back w/stock cats
5. aftermarket cat back w/aftermarket cats
6. aftermarket cat back w/o cats
7. headers w/cat back w/aftermarket cats

Do headers and stock exhaust. That way you get hp/tq and a good amount of note. That is what i am doing this weekend cannot wait.

We have quite a few customers that go the headers with stock catback route. This provides the performance without the sound. I've done the same for some of my own vehicles.

Dynatech SuperMAXX header with hiflow cats and Corsa Sports, great sounds. Putting AFR 225 heads and a 224 228 114LSA cam with a tune on the C6 a week from today, can't wait to hear what it will sound like, forget the additional pick up and goooooooooooo!

Someone here bought the C6 Flowmaster system - they hated it. Lots of resonance.
Agree with others - if you want max performance with little increase in sound level - go with headers and keep the OEM cat back exhaust system.
