you can send you pieces out to be covered. but other then that it is paint or stick ons. i bought the real carbon fiber kit from the company that does the covering and it is real nice. but i did not use all the pieces

While the interior of the vette can certainly be improved, I'm not sure wood is the way to go. Seems like it would not be consistent with the interior theme of the car.

How well do the pieces fit and how well are they finished? If it's the kit that was discussed in another thread recently it's an amazing amount of parts for the price.

Where they actual CF pieces or CF that went over the pieces? Where did you get them and about how much for the kit? Please PM me if you're not allowed to post it here. THank you.

drichner; I've been looking at dash kits for years and have NEVER SEEN a solid wood dash offered for any car. Everything I've seen has been a facing of wood veneer glued on.You might be able to get a carbon fiber relacement or different plastic or fiberglass material but I don't think you'll ever find a solid wood piece for the waterfall, pods or console. Maybe the pieces could be custom made but the $$$$$$$ would be out of sight.

I think it would look much better if there was wood where all the blue is right now. Don't understand why one would want the radio/nav/climate/ashtray to look like wood. Maybe those should be painted to blue and all the blue changed to wood.

You have it all wrong..... the C6 is supposed to give you wood, not the other way around.

Last "solid wood" dashes were back in the sixties in Jaguar Mark II, S-Type and 420G, also Rolls SC2, SC3, and Bentley S2, S3...basically still a wood substrate with veneer over.

It was found that wood substrate used in USA climates would cause eventual cracking of the veneer due to temperature related expansion/contraction.

Now all "wood dashes" are veneer over metal...

All this to say? Nothing wrong with the "stick on" pieces...can be had in real wood, faux wood, carbon fibers, metals and solid colors. I've used factory matched kits for years in Mercs, Jags and Range Rovers...in fact most dealers offer as dealer installed options.

Dash pieces for Vettes claimed to be carbon fiber are usually a "photographic image" on top of the stock dash piece. No different then the "stick on' pieces.

I currently have on order a dash kit different then most...ordered in a solid red color to go with the ebony interior in my MSM coupe. What I like about this kit is the door treatments.

There is a company called APSIS, check them out, they have a good selection of C6 dash kits and they are actual pieces and not the cover up type pricey though but quality cost more.... about 1200 bucks for the complete kit...

Back in the early '80s, I hand made solid Mahogany (SP?) dashes for two different RX-7's I had. They were really killer looking. Some day I'll have to dig up the pictures and scan them. It was a lot of work, but really turned out nice - especially on one I had with a dark red interior.
