I am contemplating modding my C6 and was curious to know thoughts on engine life with mods, in particular I am interested in headers, cam, heads, fast intake, intake and exhaust. Obviously, the warranty is voided on the engine with such mods so I am interested in owners experience(s) with a modded engine and is longevity.

The usual reason for doing engine mods is to push the engine harder. That decreases the longevity of even a stock engine, more so for one whose power has been boosted. Or put another way, if you drive the car gently, quality mods won't decrease engine longevity. But if you push harder because of the mods, engine life will be shortened.
When I was racing competitively, I figured an engine was good for about a dozen runs before it needed a teardown and freshening. Anything beyond that was a crapshoot. But then I was trying to win, so I was pushing the engine as hard as I dared. Lots of people who only hobby race don't push that hard, and can do many more passes before something breaks.
Put it this way, when I owned my 95mustang Gt, I autocrossed it all the time, and pushed it as hard as it would go. It ran 15.7 quarter miles when it had 9000 miles on it. I then sold it to my brother who didn't even maintain it that well, I bought it back from him in 2001 for an extra vehicle. It had 107,000 miles on it. He added a cam, full exhaust and intake. I took it to the track and it ran 14.7 in the quarter and felt much more powerfull than when I owned it, got better gas mileage, just felt real sloppy in the suspension due to worn bushings. Now the 5.0 blocks were not that stout in many respects and would crack the block when running in the power levels over 300hp.
Our motors are much more majorly built, with stronger internals, stronger block. If my mustang could take it, your new motor will give you years and tons of miles. Just depends on how much you modify. If you keep it at 500hp and below, you should get a good 100,000 miles out of it!
I have modified every car I have ever owned, and the few I have kept easily went over 100,000 before I sold them, and a few of my friends are still driving my older cars.
