Wow, great information in there.
A couple of points I found interesting were:
* Many people have claimed there was some regulatory reason that the 2005 MN6 "Shift to reverse" requirement could not be disabled by the dealer, to make it act like the 2006. I have still seen no actual substantiation of this claim, but at least we can see that this line of thought is being supported from a very high source in GM -- Art Spong -- so we can probably put the idea of a dealer retrofit to rest once and for all.
* The described behavior of the Traction Control and Active Handling was indeed very intriguing. For those concerned about getting straight line wheel hop (during acceleration at the drags), I think there was an interesting part where wheel hop is described as a lateral phenomenon, and for that reason, Active Handling will try to step in, including applying ABS. I don't know if that was a mis-statement, but think about that -- if you have turned off Traction Control, but left Active Handling on to protect you from sideways movement, the way I read that, if the system detects increases and decreases in rear wheel speeds relative to front ('wheel hop'), it may apply the brakes.
* If the brake system detects temps above 700F, after the current cycle it will disable the ABS, including it's use in Active Handling/Traction Control. So, I wonder if this is how the early cartech (sp?) module worked - fooling the system into thinking an overheat had occured? If so, that would seem a pretty clumsy, ham-handed approach, but hey, when you buy a black box and are not told what it's principles of operation are... buyer beware...
There were a lot of other tidbits in there worth reading, too.

"Correcting the vehicle to the driver's intent is accomplished by applying force to one or more of the brakes as well as invoking the traction control system and even magnetic selective ride control system if it's available on the vehicle"
When the webmaster shows up to work tomorrow morning and sees all the hits that this website got over the weekend, I bet they start working on a way to close the door.
