I was talking to Andy Green this morning, and he told me he had finished his 441 inch motor. It made a respectable 550RWHP530RWTQ. He took a guy for a ride and he bought the motor outright. Like you were saying FI? He's now going to build a wild twin turbo 402. What does one do with 800+ RWHP and TQ.? Would I like one, probably, could I afford one??? I wounder what my wife would say?

Gee wiz, Andy sold the motor already! I wish he had posted some snap shots, the C5R valve covers looks so baddass, and the sound of the 441 was mind-blowing. Will he ever keep any of his built engines long enough to enjoy it. Trudat, 402+FI would be a dream machine, my problem is come at the end of the month, I get audited by the fiancee.
An intake is about the easiest thing possible to install. Even easier than an exhaust. I am not mechanically inclined at all but did it rather easily. Actually heads are not that hard either but my point is that with the $150 LPE kit for the firewall you are still looking at $850-900 tops. The heads at $2000-2300 plus $200 labor (if done at the same time as cam) or $500 if done seperately is still three times the price for minimal HP/TQ. Not being a dick here just stating what I believe and I believe that the LS2 heads flow mighty well and your money is better spent in other places. Again JMO
Cajun
I dont know who the hell is charging 900 to install the FAST but I did my own and wouldnt pay 300 for that install
Your getten audited by your fiancee, That can't be good! How about this, $4000 turn key for the ET heads OK, that means wife gets $4000 to blow. That means these heads cost me How much???? Damm the price we pay and pay to go fast and keep the peace.
BLUE shows the baseline on my C6 4L65E auto / 3.15 rear and Corsa mufflers.
RED shows car with LG Pro headers, x-pipe w/out cats, Halltech Stinger and LS2 Edit tune.
GREEN shows addition of ETP 215 heads, Comp 224/228 .581/.588 114 cam, ASP underdrive pulley, FAST intake and Yank SS3200 converter (the high stall costs me some RWHP on the dyno).
All dyno pulls on the same dyno so that I could see what I was really getting! Total gains: 132.03RWHP/105.37RWTQ
I wanted the car to be VERY consistant as a bracket racer in the Corvette Challenge, as well as a good and well mannered daily driver.

andreas g. does post some great numbers w/o heads. Remember, when talking about intake, it may cost $700, but there is another approx $900 for the install and firewall mod. So, the intake is now up to $1,600 vs $2,200. Closer comparison, the decision is always yours.
If you pay someone 900 dollars to install an intake, when the firewall piece costs about 60 dollars from LPE you should go ahead and pay me my 5000 dollar commission on the sale of the 900 dollar intake as well.
I can't imagine paying someone 900 dollars for 2-4 hours worth of work IF THAT.
PS, does that bill come with a tube of KY??

its not funny there is no reason to pay 900 for the install, mine was done before the lpe kit came out and i think i paid 200 to have it modified and since i was doing other things the actual install was free, I did pay extra for porting the intake though so maybe mine ended up at 12-1300 but i would say it was well worth it

Relax, I didn't pay $900. I didn't put the FAST intake on my setup if you noticed. I swear I saw the $900 figure on the forum where the firewall had to be modified to make the FAST intake fit.
If I am spreading malicious misinformation, I do apologize.

I have seen some FAST intakes get installed and I doubt very highly that many people are doing that job in 2 hours. Not only do you have to mod the firewall or the intake but you have to do some work on the fuel rails and change the o-rings on the injectors as well to get everything to fit. Or you have to change to the oldstyle rails and injectors for more $$$$. It isn't an easy off and on swap IMHO but it can be very rewarding as many people have shown.
Now for my addition to the thread:
