Does your car feel 10% faster? Looks like it should from the HP gains.

Great numbers, pretty much tells me heads on the C6 is not a great bang for the buck mod? What are you impressions? That is not even a big cam and is turning out numbers very similiar to the guys above with aftermarket heads. Of course you have a LSX intake but $700 for the intake is not $2200 for heads.

andreas g. does post some great numbers w/o heads. Remember, when talking about intake, it may cost $700, but there is another approx $900 for the install and firewall mod. So, the intake is now up to $1,600 vs $2,200. Closer comparison, the decision is always yours.

An intake is about the easiest thing possible to install. Even easier than an exhaust. I am not mechanically inclined at all but did it rather easily. Actually heads are not that hard either but my point is that with the $150 LPE kit for the firewall you are still looking at $850-900 tops. The heads at $2000-2300 plus $200 labor (if done at the same time as cam) or $500 if done seperately is still three times the price for minimal HP/TQ. Not being a dick here just stating what I believe and I believe that the LS2 heads flow mighty well and your money is better spent in other places. Again JMO

OK, point accepted and well taken. I've always wanted to do the head/cam combo, had a little extra cash and fulfilled one of my wishes.

You know what man, from reading all your posts it seems like you are a really good dude. You can not go wrong with heads and cam on an LSx engine........period. I am glad that you got what you wanted. I do have to say that I believe you have some HP/TQ left on the table. It may be the tune BUT then again dyno numbers are not EVERYTHING. I see your TQ curve is is very high very early in the RPM band. I would suspect that your car is a monster at the track. I only had 375 HP/ 420 TQ at the wheels and ran consistent 11.6-11.7s with 1.65 60ft outperforming many cars with higher HP/TQ. It is all about power under the curve. Keep us posted on your progress. Thanks

Thanks. Mike Norris, who tuned my car, is very conservative. You're correct, he could have wrung more HP/TQ out of my set up, but he likes to leave something for later, if I go the blower or S/C route, which I do not intend to do. My wife has threatened me with bodily harm if I put any more money into the car.

Default Hey guys, I was just as surprized as the rest of you

I think the reason Andy and Charlie were somewhat surprized is they usually do Heads and cam installs with the FAST intake. Not many cars are done like mine. Of course now I'm waiting for the 215 ET heads to show up. And if I had to leave it the way it is; I wouln't be unhappy. The power is great and it's right at tip in. There is so much low end that 1 st gear is useless at WOT. The Fast intake helps everywhere. BTW my dyno numbers before the FAST was 410RWHP384RWTQ, and after it went to 427/405. Not a bad increase. As some of you know Andy's dyno is right on the money, if not a little on the low side according to Charlie. You know the old saying never enough power, but I can tell you that after the Heads, I'm done. I think!!!
