Default Code: P0833? Does anyone know what this is?

I have a 2005 C6/Z51 with manual trans. I now have 7,000 miles on it. Recently I installed the CAGS to eliminate the 1-4skip shift. Seemed to work fine, however about 300 miles later the Check Engine light has come on. Onstar informed me it is a code P0833 Onstar stated it was transmission related. Is this from the CAGS I installed? I thought the product was a resister designed to ensure the CE light would not come on? So two questions:
1) Is the code P0833 related to CAGS?
2) If so, how do I remedy this? I read a post about needing to make sure the prongs were connected properly... I thought I did.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reponse. Is this something that I need to take back to the dealer for warranty? Or is it an adjustment?

How did you get onstar to tell you?

I'm signed up for the Onstar diagnostic service where they send a monthly e-mail regarding diagnostic check via the computer (which is an additional free service with my membership apparently). I received the e-mail today ironically, but it didn't state anything about the CE light being on recently. So I hit the Onstar button while driving and asked the rep why my CE light was on. She was able to get the information above: Code P0833

BTW I had a similar issue. My clutch felt weird, I guess you can describe it as harsh then I noticed cruise stopped working & and I got a CEL. After further inspection of the clutch, I noticed it was considerably lower than the break and gas pedal. So I reached down and lifted the clutch pedal and now all is well, I also have the "butta" feel back into the clutch.

Interesting. Is this under your initial "Free Year" or did you purchase something additional?

Really?? Wow, that's interesting. I'll try that. I haven't felt anthing out of the ordinary with my clutch at all. So you literally just pulled the clutch pedal outwards and it reset/adjusted it back correctly?

take it to a dealer if this doesn't go away.....a lot of auto part stores will be able to pull these codes for you for free....if you don't have onstar....or if you have onstar just for pulling the codes, i hope not....a obd II code scanner is only $70 or so at walmart...good luck

I renewed the subscription $34.95/month It's the middle program, I believe it's the plan called "Directions & Connections" or something...
You need to sign up for "Vehicle Diagnostics", which is free with a membership.

Thanks. I just called onstar and gave them my email address. The year membership offers Vehicle Diagnostics.

Can you recommend a code scanner for the 06?
Can you reset the codes?

actually any code scanner will do if you are only interested in pulling the dtc codes and delete them...some will give you more like the operating data, freeze frame...etc....so the bottom lline is, save you money if u are just interest in pulling codes in that case any code scanner will do. pulling the fuse(s) will also delete the codes too.....will come back it the issue isn't resolved.

Any code scanner that is OBD II capable will work fine.
