Some contractor was pressure cleaning my garage and when I lifted it...some of the water went on my black beauty..Now..there are about (10) marks that look like water marks but will not come off ...besides writting a letter to the company, is there anything I can use to help get the marks out of there or not?????
Thanks,
Upset
A few questions for you on this, did you have several good coats of wax on the car yet? What did you use to try and remove the spots with? As some one said earlier, if it ate into the clear coat, spots will have to be buffed out. One other thing to try is using some Eagle 1 Never Dull. This stuff was and is used by the military to polish out canopies on jets and will remove fine scratches. If you use this, rub gently, remove haze with a soft cloth and then use some good cleaner wax on the area to polish it back out...buffer works the best. Hope this helps.
That sux. Before wet sanding, I would try using a Porter Cable orbital (you can buy one in the tools section at Lowes for about $95. Use a white or yelllow foam pad and some Menzerna Intense polish. If that get's it out (and that process will remove water marks), finish up with some Menzerna Final Polish II . This approach is much better (much less agressive) than wet sanding or an orbital buffer - as long as the spots aren't too deep (which is very possible). If it doesn't work, you can go to a more aggressive step. However, if you go more agressive than necessary, well, you can't go back.
As a bonus, that Porter Cable (as the polishes I listed) can be used for removing swirl marks too.
Read all about the Porter Cable in the car care section. Just do a search.
