Nevermind I disconnected the battery and it went off. FOr some reason the green light around the start button wouldnt go off. The FOB was no where around..
You are about the 10,000th person who this has happened to with a C6. Mot people are accidentally pushing the guage brightness button on the left side of the steering wheel. That turns them on.

There is your answer. Now since you disconected your battery, you may have to reset the window indexing.
Maybe these guys are right but I had the exact same results immediately after changing out the shifter ...which required pulling and reconnecting a few wires. And does that explain the green start switch light too?
A week later the car went in for headers, exhaust, Callaway intake, staged temp thermostat, wires and a dyno tune ...and from there straight over to get a carbon fiber hood bolted on. About 3 hours after picking the car up the horn started blaring for a few minutes ...then stopped as it should ...then restarted and did not stop. Another pull of the battery cable fixed it again.
My belief is this car has enouygh computers to qualify as a laptop in it's own right and gets caught up in itself after something out of parameters happens ...so it needs to be rebooted just like a laptop. I had a few other times when it just started "dinging" at me when I got in even though I did not leave lights on, etc. and it also seems to forget to restore my seat position on occassion as I get in. So anyway I plan to take it in and get the body computer checked.
I had the same thing happen (light wouldn't go off) after cleaning the interior. I did a novel thing, went in and read the owner's manual. Guess what, it was in there. Went out and pushed the dash dimmer button........
