I don't think it became an issue until people made up badges. I'm still waiting for the QX1 badge!

Lots of guys in the C5's used to put LS1 on their fenders. Not for me, but I could care less if somebody liked it on their car, more power to them.
I really don't get the animosity. Useless pi$$ing match if you ask me. It sort of violates a general rule of forums as pertains to a post adding to the discussion.

I think there are two big reasons for the above.
1. There was no 2005 Z06. The C6 Z51 was the king of the hill among newly minted Corvettes. The creme de la creme, upon introduction of the C6. It sported the same 1-4 gearing in the manuals as the C5 Z06 and only 5 fewer horses.
2. None other than Dave Hill compared the MN6 Z51 C6 to the outgoing C5 Z06 with words to the effect that it offered near C5 Z06 performance. This comparison was never made with the base and F55 equipped models.
There is undoubtedly resentment among SOME non Z51 owners due to the above and it is exhibited here all too often.

Yes bobartstar, the Z51 will run through the manual gears faster. Be it 1/1000 of a second or 3 seconds faster, it still wins the race. Also, the Z51's 5th gear provided the 186 MPH autobahn run. And finally, the Z51's brakes gives you 9 additional feet of safety margin once you get up to speed.

There isn't the animosity for Z51 owners that you guys claim. That is absolutely absurd. With $1500 in mods, a base car (for less) is faster, brakes equally, and handles better.WHO FREAKING CARES???? It seems to me that a VERY FEW Z51 members hang themselves out as better than thou. THAT is what is causing this stir. It is yet another absurdidty to ban people on one side of this issue and not the other. Feel free to place me in your ignore list if you'd like.
The Z51 is NOT the best Corvette. The best one is the one that the individual is driving.
I may have C6 Z06 envy, but I sure as he!! do not have Z51 envy.
I find myself getting wrapped up in these STUPID posts. That's my fault. This is the last pissing match post on this subject that I am involving myself in.
Otherwise, I will spend my time posting on some intelligent, fun, and informative threads with my Corvette brethren.
