I chose MN6 mainly because its a much stronger gearbox and will handle the the 1000hp Blown 402 I plan on throwing at it. I really doubt the A6 will even come close to handling that kind of power, time will tell.
You're right about the A6 not handling real big power but in all fairness, a stock MN6/M12 (hell, even a built one) is NOT going to take 1000hp either, at least not in any kind of serious racing application...finding a clutch that can handle it will be an even harder task.
But yes driven with some restraint it will last longer behind that kind of power than an A6/A4 will.

Don't worry about the MN6/M12, it won't break because the diff is going to be in about a thousand pieces on the ground before the tranny has a chance to break.

True LOL, even on stock tires no less, forget a drag radial or true slick.
Come on guys, you know how reliable twin turbo LPE cars are at the track and they are putting out 1000hp and more.Their record speaks for itself. You just have to upgrade your whole drivetrane. Hardened output shafts etc, Excedy twin disc clutch among others, and of course Hoosier's new 19" sticky tires on 13x19s.If you try and put this kind of power in a stock vehicle you probably wouldn't make it around the block on a heavy gas pedal.
It will be interesting to see how much boosted HP LPE can throw at these new A6's transmissions and how their clutches and internals will hold up in a drag car with a nice sticky launch.
1000hp on tap is not for the faint of heart or inexperienced drivers. With that kind of power on tap ,you REALLY need to relearn the meaning of feathering the throttle from a stop,it's not just mash and go anymore. But when you reach highway/tollway speeds, thats where the 1000HP is untouchable and the fun begins. Their is nothing better than some arrogant driver pulling up to you on the highway to show you their tail lights in a Porsch, Ferrari or other exotic 100k++ car and dusting them REALLY BAD with American muscle and seeing the look in their eyes.
With a 1000 hp vette I'd go to the standing mile. There are several around the country. www. ECTA-LSR. com. (east coast). I believe Lingenfelter ran the standing mile. Perfect enviroment for a supercar to strut it's stuff.
