Default Surprising Bullet PRT experience

I installed Bullet's with the PRT a week ago. I was very happy with the sound but ended up removing the PRT today to make room for the Header / High Flow Cat system being installed next week and I wanted to hear the sound of just the Bullet's.
To my amazement, the drone actually reduced and at cruising speeds it sounded more quiet and when I jumped on the gas it was awesome !
I wish I would have just bought the Bullet's and saved the money on the PRT.
Now, what do I do with the PRT? I guess it's E-bay for me.

Damn...I try and tell people this all the time. I don't know what kind of tranny you're running, but with my MN6, the drone from my Bulletts is a non-factor. Vettes are supposed to be loud! If you want a quiet car, buy a Caddy or a Lexus. Then there are those people who say "Yeah, my exhaust is a little too quiet, but at WOT it sounds great." Just how often do they drive at WOT? So they have an exhaust that sounds like a POS 99% of the time...And that makes them happy? Bulletts sound great all the time...And w/a stick they are orgasmic. If you haven't tried them, then you have no idea what you are missing, and if you've tried them and didn't like them, you can share that story with all the other Sisters at the convent.

I'm putting my "Bullets" on this weekend!
I also got an x-pipe, but might have to sell it {w/low miles on it} after I get LT headers!

Without the PRT the drone is 2250rpm - 2500rpm. On the highway you wont be in that range. The PRT actually brings the drone down to about 1800 rpm but its barely noticeable. Without the PRT it definetly sound MEAN!!! I'm going to add headers and hope with this combo it'll be just right.

I've said it before and I'll say it again and again and again....

The Bullets are only a problem with the A4 auto tranny which constantly puts it in to the low rpm DRONE ZONE.

That is why I sold mine and swapped for the much mellower Magnaflow #15884 system.

The 6 speed manual allows you to shift and tailor the sound of the exhaust to your preference whether it be Bullets, GHLs, Borlas, etc...

I think if you had to make a suggestion as to which exhaust someone should buy:

it would look like this:

6 speed manual - Bullets, GHLs, Borlas, or Magnaflows

A4 auto tranny - Magnaflows, Corsa Sports, B&B Touring

A6 auto tranny if you are willing to manually shift - GHLs, Magnaflows, Corsa Sports, or Bullets if you are daring.

Enjoy those BAD AZZ sounding Bullets, I do miss them sometimes.

The PRT is the center section option you can purchase with any of the B&B exhaust systems. It provides a Purge Resonance chamber which helps draw exhaust away from the engine ( kinda sorta like that).
It helps remove some of the drone and popping you get from aggresive systems.
I bought the Bullets with the PRT thinking that the Bullets would be way too loud... I was wrong.. I took off the PRT because I am making room for headers and the Bullets woke the car up and it sounds mean as hell.
Depends on what sound you are going for.. The PRT definately quited down the system but the Drone without the PRT seemed to lessen at higher RPM's.
I love the sound without the PRT.

Well here is my question, I test drove a c6 with bullets and it sounded awesome, but I plan to go with headers, and I was told it would be unbelievably loud with headers, in other words too loud. So how much louder is it, at idle, at cruize, and WOT. Trying to decide between headers and bullets, or headers and Route 66's.

Because of the high flow cats, it's quite a bit louder. If you go without cats, it is unreal. I had a friend with a C5 - Z06 that did headers, no cats and Bullets. It was a hoot to drive for a short distance, but everyone within about 8 miles could hear it.

Go with the headers and Bullet's.
I think if you go with the headers and route 66 you will always wonder what the Bullet's would sound like.
