Did you talk to JBA? Before I bought my Kooks, I spoke with them about C6 headers. At the time (6 months ago) they said they were only making long-tubes for the C6 since there simply were not enough gains to go with the shorties.
Shorties are a waste of time and money. They are not even a good mod. If you come to be and say you have shorties on your car I would not be impressed and might laugh. I have LGs and they are fine and I have no codes since I got the car tuned. Go with LT or dont go at all.
On an otherwise completely stock LS2 equipped C6, Callaway headers produce an additional 8 to 10 bhp (SAE-corrected). As other engine components are installed, i.e., cat back exhaust, intake manifold, performance camshaft, ported cylinder heads, etc., the added power increases. They produce the ringing "header sound" that many of us like, but we use them in our 490 and 550 hp SuperNatural Corvettes for the added power, not for the sound.
Long tube headers produce more power; however, they are not legal for street use per the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These headers change the location of the OEM catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, which the EPA considers "Tampering". The only converters that are EPA-legal are OEM or OEM replacement, which doesn't include any catalytic converters that increase flow. Callaway Cars has chosen not to sell or install long tube headers, high-flow converters, or any other products that are non-compliant with EPA regulations.

Read, Keep ypur OEM exhaust if you go with LTs. You may be forced to reinstall them some day down te road. Move from any state to California and you will have to change back to OEM for the intital licensing. After that many people are getting away with LTs in Ca. but, just as many are getting caught out and forced to go back to OEM.

I've run headers on all my cars since the early 80's and have never had a problem with inspections or checking for CARB numbers. As long as it passes the sniffer, you're okay. If anyone has been "caught" and forced to remove them, I'd like to hear about it.
so the headers are waste of my money then i should just do a tune on the car
With my Halltech intake and Corsa cat-back, I ran the same times as stock in the 1/8th. After my tune, I ran .2 and 3.9 mph quicker in the 1/8th. After long-tubes, I ran .3 and 3 mph quicker in the 1/8th. I think a tune is very much worthwhile......if you don't mind possbily losing your warranty.
