Default Exhaust Installation Instructions

I will be installing my exhaust tonight, assuming the Fed Ex comes today, and was looking for a good place to find quality install instructions. I know the basics - you remove and loosen some bolts for the rear sway bar and lower it, remove the h-pipe, and remove the bolts holding the rubber hangers on and the exhaust should come right off over the axles. But I was looking for a place to see step by step and get a picture of what the bolts for the sway bar look like. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

I would agree. Video spells it out step by step.

Are you installing without a lift?
If your car is older like mine (25,000 miles), I would recommend finding a lift. I installed Borla Touring rear section this past weekend on a lift (with help from my brother) and I cannot imagine doing so without the car all the way up. The H-pipe was a pain to get off the over-axle pipes and a bigger pain to put all the pipes back on. I used liberal amounts of WD40/Rust penetrant to get the pipes to all fit back in. Also watched that video several times to work from memory, but when the old pipes don't want to come out... Hope your car is newer and loosens/assembles back more smoothly than mine did. Good luck!

BTW which exhaust did you get?

You didn't say which exhaust you had ordered, but if it's Corsa, the installation booklet has great pictures. Couple of "lessons learned' from the install I did of Sports with X-Pipe last month....use WD-40 on all the fitting before loosening & then a bit of hi-heat grease (or the little packets that comes in the Corsa kit) on all the threads when you put it back up. I had access to a lift which made the job a breeze. Many members tell of doing the job with jacks & jackstands, but my back is just too old for those contortions. Oh....you'll need deep sockets for a couple of the fittings. Good luck!

I'm doing it on wheel ramps, so it should be interesting. My car only has 140 miles, so I don't think the bolts or stock exhaust should be difficult to remove. I purchased the bullets.

I did mine on jack stands. Difficult, but not impossible.

Use 'Anti-Sieze' and it will come off easy the next time

Here's another instruction from Corsa.
