Valve Lift the stock LS2 Beehive valvesprings will handle, and give trouble free service ? I'm asking because I am considering doing 1.8 rocker arms, but I don't want to have valvesprings that are on the ragged edge of durability. Thank's in advance for your input....
Tested the stock spring on a valve spring tester. @ 1.80 installed height
95lbs on the seat, @ .570 lift 290 lbs. Coil bind is at 1.220. Anyway, if you're going to increase your lift with 1.8 rockers, you'll be at .556 lift,
which is OK with 1.8 rockers. Another option is comps 918 behive springs. 130 lbs of seat pressure and 315 lbs at max lift of .600. Stock cam profiles aren't hard on valve springs. you shouldn't have any problems.

Steve.
Most 1.8 rocker arm kits I've seen advertised come with the necessary springs, retainers, keepers, etc.
Andreas, I had pretty much figured the lift, just wasn't sure what the limit on coil bind was. I am just going to install rocker arms, as I believe the factory spring's, retainer's, and lock's will last with this combination. Thank's Again...
