I got this because I am ultimately lazy and I did not feel like fabbing up something to cover the hole. I also thought they would have a template and make the cutting really easy. Well there is absolutely no instructions what so ever. I am a man armed with little sense and an arsenal of tools so lack of instructions is rarely more than a mere aggrivation. But, there is that aluminum block thing. What in the name of Napolian is that for? I have not cut the wall yet and imagine it will become obvious but I'm a little interested. I bet it has something to do with a support in there. Any body done this themselves?
Lingenfelter emailed me a template and called me to let me know what to do with the block. Very nice service. Might be pricey but they do stand by their stuff in my experiences.
I use the modified A&A FAST intake to fit better beneath the C6 hood, very little or no cutting to the firewall is involved...anyways, good luck with yours.

Good Stuff! Good luck with your H/C results Yeah, I was at the shop when they did mine, Mike (A&A tech) explained to me how's it done...anyways, it took about a day for it to cure before install. Keep in mind that some may not like the idea of the FAST being altered for resale purposes, personally it's not an issue with me.
i would rather make the hole in the "firewall" before cutting the intake but that just me. if you have see the mod it not that big a deal and it between the engine compartment and the windsheild wiper area. i have seen the patch just rivited on and some rivited and sealed
