Complying with the owner's manual won't void your warranty, no matter what your dealer says. But, if your owner's manual specifies a Dexron VI for your car and RP doesn't meet this spec, then your dealer might be correct.
The diff spec was a synthetic 75w90 for the C5. I've never seen anything more specific than that for the C5 or C6. I use AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90.

I changed mine this last weekend and it shifts ALOT smoother...
also, funny thing so far is i am getting over 19mpg in the city compared to the usual 17mpg..
