Default LG headers and BB rt66

Hi guys. My new toy is going to built on 7/10/07.It is a white coupe with a black and gray interior,3lt,z51,6spd . Would like oppinions on LG long tubes with BB66 exhaust. Have allready ordered a vararam and spacer from Rick Anthony. Plan is to have LG do a head and cam package.

I recommend ear plugs if you value your hearing.

I have this now. The car sounds awesome, but it does have some drone. It's not horrible, but it's not great either. If you're sensitive to drone, you probably won't like this combo. It bothers me when the windows/top are closed and rpms are low, but when the car is open it sounds incredibly good. My wife thinks the car sounds great and doesn't have a problem with the drone at all. Everyone's ear is different.

The volume level was just about perfect with the stock manifolds and the RT66, but with the LGs (with cats) it's pretty loud at WOT, a little louder than I would like (but nowhere near "earplug" loud.)

The search for the perfect C6 exhaust continues... This weekend, I'm installing a slightly used Corsa Sport system that I picked up cheap. I don't expect it to sound as good as the RT66 system does, but the drone should be cut down. I don't really expect this exhaust option to last on my car either, I've had Corsa in the past and I'll probably miss the deep tone of the B&B, but the price was right so I'm going to try it.

Thanks Flairside. Just the responce I was looking for. I know with bullets it would be way too loud. I have use BB on BMWs before and was very happy with the sound and quality. Looking for a deep 60s muscle car sound.

REPLY: I had the Route 66 with Headers ; you get a strong drone between 1600-1900 rpms with the Route 66. I was so annoyed that i emailed BandB and told them they had a real nerve putting out a product like this and expecting the public to pay $1000 for the aggravation . They replied by saying that they offer a silencer kit that goes inside the Route 66 and they would give me a deal on it for another mere $300 ; I told them they should have put it on their Route 66 to begin with. I ended up having the Route 66 for 2 weeks...thats all i could stand it for , especially on the highway . My installer was gracious enough to put my factory catback on (without labor charge) and give me $500 back on the Route 66. So, that painful lesson cost me $500 . DONT DO IT ! Nearly everyone hates the drone. And their advertised h.p. gain is more garbage too -- its so insignificant over the stock catback that you wont even feel it. Repeating....DONT DO IT ! Get a different brand and listen to it first before buying.

I don't have headers on my automatic but I do have the route 66 exhaust (cat back only) and I'm very happy with it. If you do go with this, one thing that I noticed is the sound is different now from when I first installed it about 400 miles ago.

REPLY: I hope you put it on your credit card so when you discover the obnoxious drone starting at 1600 rpms , you can at least return them for a full credit. Either that, or, be prepared to spend an additional $280 plus, for BandB's cure which is adding their baffles to the Rte. 66 catback.

I am thinking of getting the LG PRO catted headers with the B&B Bullets, but it seems that it would even be louder than with the Route 66?

I have a procharger, american racing headers, and B&B bullets installed on a 06 manual. Its extremley loud and I have a lot drone but it does sound badass. I didn't hear the system before I bought it and I was completely shocked on how much noise it makes when it was installed. I caution you to hear it on someone elses car before making a decision

I just had the Route66 Evolution installed on my otherwise stock car. The system sounds great! No drone, you can talk at a normal tone with the windows up and the top on. The tone is throaty but not aggrivating. The sound in great as you accelerate.

I would recommend that you hear it before making a decision. I daily drive mine and want comfort as well as looks! The sound great and look even better.

Hi guys,

Just a heads up on our C6 headers. They are being built as we speak at Borla. they got quite a bit behind due to better than expected sales volume of their other exhaust systems.

But they are working as we speak to finish our C6 LG Pro Long Tube headers to fill our back orders and allow us to process all the orders that have been waiting for us to take delivery.

My sales guys will contact all of you who have orders in waiting for your cards to be charged.

Thanks for all the support guys.

I'd be cautious here. You might want to put a few thousand miles on the car before you void the warranty. There could be a few bugs you need to get GM to fix. There's a ton of electronics on these cars you know.

an exhaust WILL NOT void the warranty.

I had a full exhaust (LG's, Borlas and NO cats and Vararam) on my 02 Z and had warranty work done with well over 75k miles on my extended warranty and the dealer never asked a single question. If they give you trouble find a dealer that you can trust.

I have the Kooks LT's, built very nice, fitment was PERFECT, and they will give you a little more ground clearance than the LGs.

Also save you a few dollars. Bought them through Tbyrne, customer service was great, as was the price.

Contrary to popular belief, there are other headers sold on this planet besides LG Pro Long Tubes. they are LG STREET SERIES headers.

And if you want to save money, you can buy our LG Street Series headers for $995 complete with Free SHipping

Sounds good to me.

Thanks
Lou G
