I just got the PRT for my Bullets and installed it last night. After a test drive and a few bumps, the PRT hits the aluminum heat shield covering the torque tube. Is this just a matter of adjusting it to add clearance, or am I missing something else? I installed the PRT with the gussets (supports) on the top as per Billy Boat's instructions. Should I try turning it over? I'm stumped...if anyone has any good ideas, I'm open to suggestions.
I had B & B Route 66 mufflers with the PRT installed on my car when I took delivery of it ('06 C6 Auto 6). I also had the Elite Engineering stainless steel ceramic coated tunnel cover installed on top of the factory plate.
I have had no problems with the PRT hitting the tunnel plate.
I do have a problem with drone/resonance though. Not too bad, but some times it is pretty anoying.

There is so little room between the PRT and factory plate that adding the tunnel plate may just have the PRT staying against the tunnel plate and not moving.
Yep, the PRT doesn't get rid of drone/resonance, but with Bullets, it helps. I really like how the combo sounds, but don't like when I go over bumps and hear this banging sound.
I had the same problem with my PRT. I finally took it to a muffler shop. The guy loosened it at every clamp and had someone pull down on it as he tightened it clamp by clamp. When he was done there was an inch clearance between the PRT and tunnell plate. This has been enough and mine has not hit in over 2 months. It took the guy about 15 minutes and he only charged me $15.

Thanks for the response. That is exactly the feedback I got from B&B. Pull it down and tighten it up. I will give that a try.
