Default Intake manifold

Two intake manifold questions:

1. Is the black plastic over the intake manifold removable, or is it part of the manifold?
2. Does anyone have photos of the stock manifold?

The manifold is composit. I think what you are looking at is the manifold.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure.
I've heard so much about cleaning up the casting and porting it getting good gains for an easy install.
Just thinking here.

Gary,
Do the FAST intake. Ben has one. It requires a slight Firewall mod to fit. Conservative reports are 15-20 RWHP for just the FAST. Only thing I don't like about the FAST is the stupid Gray color. Paint it before the install. Tony is best for that install. Your OEM 90mm throttle body is probably just fine.

See my recent post on cleaing/porting the OE intake.

The Fast is a good mod, but expensive, and requires cutting the firewall, and various other changes to work.

For a fraction of the cost, you can have the OE unit ported with similar gains. You can also do it yourself like I did.
