i went to the drag strip friday night, and raced my 2006 6 speed corvette. i had a horable run, it seemed like comming off the line i had no power but after about 500 feet i ate the other cars. this was only my secont trip to the track. and my reaction times were all in the 1 .000 renge . was this the problem? i did a good burn out.
Reaction time only matters when you're racing someone to the finish line.
You're E.T. doesn't start counting when the light turns green; it starts when your front tires clear the first staging light. You can sit on the line for five minutes after the light turns green, THEN go, and still run a 12.xx w/reasonable driving. As a matter of fact, being a beginner, that's probably the best tactic. Forget about the green light for now; it's just added stress. Just wait until it turns green then go when you're good and ready. That will net you the best quality runs, best E.T.'s, and best learning experience for your driving.
Lay off the Qualudes and the reaction times should drop.
Funny stuff....when was this guy released? Reminds me of a guy I knew who took machine gun spray in his right arm...he then had to re-learn how to eat with his left hand....had fork tracks all over his face for the first month or so.

I bet he grew a beard or started using an electric shaver.
