Default Headers ,Cam,Tune Question

Need advise, Got a 06 C6 Mn6, 500 miles on the car. Got the car in March. Put Borla stingers on,Z51 sway bars, K&N filters. Car is weekend driver only. Love the sound of a cam, Don't need wild, but not to mild. When I fire it up I want the cam sound, but not the heavy shaking. Has to be streetable. ( Want that old Muscle car sound ).
Thinking LG long tubes, will they bolt up to the borlas? I do have the borla x-pipe. Should I get the headers ceramic coated? What cam suggestions do you have? Was holding off because of warrenty, but right now I don't care anymore. I want the pull, and the sound of the cam.

I've got the Borla Stingers & the LG Pro LongTubes.. The x-pipe provided with the LG LTs have a bigger diameter than the borla x-pipe I had on the car. I'm giving out that x-pipe to a friend of mine that recently got an 06 and wants to keept it stock + catback exhaust only.

Borla are the ones that manufacture the LG LongTubes and there won't be any issues bolting the headers/x-pipe/catback together...

In regard to the cam, I went for a quite aggressive cam, which is not what you want... What you want is a CAM with a moderate lope (114 LSA), any lower and the car will lope and shake at idle unless your tuner fell down from the heavens... the 224/228 CAMs are proven performers for the LS2.. Checkout what Texas Speed & Thunder Racing have to offer... With such CAMs, I really doubt that you'll have intake/exhaust lifts higher than 0.600, thus you won't really need to upgrade to dual springs but I would highly recommend upgrading your springs (duals won't be needed). For CAMs with a lift lower than 0.600 I'd personally recommendt the Comp918 spring kit.. That should come with the spring seals, retainers, etc... Upgrading your pushrods to chromoly hardenned pushrods are also recommended (Stock length on stock heads "7.400"..)

Checkout dyno graphs comparisons (stock cam vs. aftermarket cam) and look at the gains and how far accross the powerband they're spread... Don't be tempted by highest HP results/gains.. Power under the curve is what really matters... What you want is a fast car, not bragging rights!

Good luck..

I just did a Cartek 2X package and dynoed at 528hp at the crank. It was a 223/230 with a 114 LSA and .591 lift. Sounds just about right.
