Default How soon to start mods?

I picked up our new 07 Friday. It now has about 50 miles on it. Sitting in the garage is a new Vararam, headers, and BB exhaust. Was wanting to know if I should wait to put them on,or just go for it. Didin't know if the car should be broke in first, or if it doesn't matter. Thanks for your help. Yesterday did the door handles and z06 spoiler. Thanks to the other forum members for their posts. Made the job a snap.

Mr. Gorman, you are a strong man. I'd have already started!

When my wife picked up my H2 for me I was overseas on business. I ordered a catback from the hotel and it was ready for me when I got home. It went on as soon as I got home!

I would start with performance mods at 1,000 miles to make sure they built the car correctly. I, like you had parts before the car arrived, but you just can't weaken!

Except for the exhaust - you might want to do that early to enjoy the sounds.

I'd say at least get through the 500 mile break-in period.

Also, if you want a baseline dyno before you start moding, so you know how much you're really getting from your mods when you dyno after moding, you probably want to break it in and then get a baseline.

Then let the mods begin and get a good tune!!

I usually like to start the mods as soon as the car comes home. This way everything will break in together If your interested in dyno numbers I would wait a few hundred miles, get a baseline and then let the fun begin!

I had several mods in my garage before the car arrived. As soon as it got home the mods went on. I regret doing that so soon because I had nothing with which to compare. For example, by putting on the Corsa Sport exhaust, the cross-drilled rotors and new pads, and the Z51 sway bars I couldn't appreciate the differences from stock parts. I would wait about 1k miles before making a lot of changes. That's just my experience and how I feel now.

I had 1500 miles on mine before I started, but then 700 miles was driving to the tunner

down hill from there.

Concur

Put all that stuff on and the dealer may give you grief on any warrantee work. Additionally, the break-in period. Waiting till 1k makes good sense.

I would get a couple of thou on the clock to get a decent baseline of stock performance & then do the mods. That way too, if you have any "infant mortality" warranty issues (and I sure hope not), you won't have any problems with the Dealer.

I waited for 500 miles, (break in), so I could do a baseline qtr mile run.
