I spoke to MTI yesterday, their shifter does sound promising but.....they do not have a specific C6 shifter. Although theirs will work in a C6, and it is a straight stick rather than having a bend (kink) in it, they are however looking to manufacture a model with the kink specifically for a C6.

So now I'm back leaning towards a Callaway....if only it was pricied more aggressively!

Yes, the MTI is a true Short throw shifter. They claim 35% and it sure feels like it. It also accepts all *****. C5, C6 and anything with a 9/16 18 threaded ****.

Dude, why do you care where the "kink" as you call it is located????

You are misinformed, the shifter works in the c6 and c5, no difference whatsoever.

The reason why this shifter works so well is that the fulcrum of the product is located to the underside, beneath a thicker base plate, creating a shorter throw to the upper shaft of the unit.

It looks stock, doesnt rattle and is quiet as it uses the base boot from the OEM unit.

Jeeze, I should get a commission for this. You listening MTI ????

Careful, they will call you a Cheerleader

I don't know what that dude expects with the little kinks and all. I hope he understands the Callaway has no kinks either. The six shooter fits all C5 and C6's so what else do you need to know!

Gee, I spoke to MTI directly...but I should have just called you instead.

If you read my post I said I know the shifter works in the C6, but since the shifter is straight and doesn't have a "kink" in it, when it is installed the shift **** is not in the same location as the stock shifter. Also MTI told me they're working on a new shifter with a bend in it to "better" suit the C6.

Many things in life "will work" but that doesn't mean they are correct nor the best.

"gorillavet" I hope you got all that too dude?

I have not experienced the Callaway but I am happy with my B&M. The B&M greatly improved the shift. Shorter throw, more positive gates and a good feel. Negatives are it rattles/buzzes between gears. No rattles or buzzes in gear but on a "relaxed" shift there is a noticable buzz. This buss did not start until I had about 5k miles on the shifter.

The Callaway wasn't out when I purchased my shifter I selected the B&M over Hurst because I wanted to keep the OEM ****.

I have the B&M and the vibrations occur when I wind out easy or hard. It also vibrates while in gear and cruising. I ordered the Calaway which, by the way, now will handle the OEM know.

called MTI today.... guy told me C5 and C6 are the same shifter... they run them in all their C6's... i asked about the bend and he told me again that they run them in all their C6's and Z06's without any problems.....

i used to hit the radio with my hand with the stock shifter (hard shifting) and it had a bend... hard to believe that theirs will be a whole lot different without a bend... (i know it is a shorter shifter - but still - not like it had a bend in it)

oh well... i guess.... next...... anyone know about the stock C6Z06 shifter?? is that one a little shorter than a stock C6?

how about a pic of the MTI shifter in third...... (stock ball)

It is shorter than the C5 stock shifter, but the same length as the C6 shifter.

I dunno. I think we need MTI to input here. It is a fulcrum point, not a kink. If you want a kink, Ive got an 800# for you to call.
