B&M or Callaway?
1. Easy install. Took me about an hour, including the time spent removing the console for the second time after I couldn't access one of the electrical plugs I needed to replug. All parts required for installation included in the kit with a very good instruction booklet.
2. Well made unit. Quality materials.
3. Offers advantage of being able to use the existing shifter ****, which I personally like.
4. Cheaper than the Callaway or the Hurst (paid $180 for mine from a CF vendor - could find the Hurst at about the same price, but you have to buy a shift **** for around $25).
5. Shifter seems a little stiff to me right now. I haven't put a lot of miles on it since I installed it, so hoping it will loosen up a little as it wears in. Like the positive feel of shifting under acceleration, not quite as happy with the feel when I'm "granny shifting." Definitely shortens the stock throw.
6. Had heard complaints about tranny noise, rattling under acceleration, etc. Have not experienced any of those (I decided to keep the stock rubber bushings where the shifter mounts to the torque tube/car as opposed to installing B&M's plastic bushings. Instructions said this would result in less vibration, so I opted to do this).
HTH.

Funny thing is that my mod shop recommended the Callaway, but .......

That's what I'm doing, except they are taking the B&M out of my C6 and replacing it with the Callaway. glad to hear you are pleased.

You will not be sorry. Quiet, no rattle, stealthy and youll never miss thrid from second again.
Most people are very pleased with the Callaway Shifter operation, as you can see in this thread. You can also see that excessive noise doesn't usually occur. The point I was trying to make earlier was that I couldn't guarantee that installing a Callaway Shifter in your particular Corvette would result in zero noise. (I'd rather forfeit a $295 sale than mislead you.) So, if you wish to ensure zero noise, and that's more important to you than optimizing the shifting function, the new B&M might be a better choice.

I think it is 199.00 minus 50.00 core return.
I agree. Calloway makes some nice stuff also. MTI really cares about their product and even will call you after delivery to make sure your happy with the product, etc.
As an FYI, I am still waiting for my email from calloway regarding a question about a finish blemish on my Honker. The Honker is an awesome product.
Yes stock quiet. Look on web site for all the information, even an FAQ. www.mtiracing.com a forum sponsor.
i have a B&M and keep missing 3rd - not all the time though - only on my bad days...
thinking about a stock Z06 or an MTI..... the ability to get it in gear is more important that the short pattern at this point....
today is the first i've heard about the MTI shifter...
thanks for the post and info....
