Default Throttle Body Spacer

There is a product that is about an inch thick that bolts to the front of the TB.

Is this a mod that goes on with out any difficulties?

Such as, the accordian tube and the rest of the filter intake, does it just fit right or do these components need to be modified or/and do they get "cruched up?.

Price for this mod at $60 seems OK.

If it's made of rubber, it WILL get crunched up-unless they have a metal sleeve inside of the opening or around the outside of the spacer. Have seen one removed and it DEFINITELY crunches up.

I've got one and it's an easy install. I thought as well, for $60, might as well try it. To be honest, I have no clue if it did anything. It didn't increase or decrease my track times so pretty much what I've got is hard rubber spacer.

It is not hard at all to install. And you just need to torque the bolts properly and it fits fine.

There was someone who fabricated or found some metal tubes to fit inside the vararam spacer so you could torque the bolts down tighter. I don't have a problem with how it fits though.

It has metal inserts that go in to the bolt holes of the spacer, very easy to install.

Not sure what to tell you on that one. Seemed fairly easy to me, just common sense I guess.

What exactly is it that you are having problems with, that may be an easier way to tackle the problem. Do you have a bad seal?

no problems.haven;t even gotten it yet,I just thought that there was a specific torque # OR SOMETHING THAT The wrench would have to be turned to when tightening.I'll just tighten it till it feel secure...

If I took a guess I would say we put about 7 lbs of torque, maybe a little less. Some people are saying the new ones have metal sleeves like the ones a member was suggesting a while back.

If that is the case I would say it should not be a problem. I have to be honest, I really don't know if mine had those metal sleeves or not.

I just put on a ported TB so I just had the thing off yesterday. Wish I would have looked to see if I had the metal sleeves.

The guy selling the aluminum TB spacers can't be reached on his link anymore. Does anyone know how to contact him?

i have the same question. the current way the intake ducting, maf, and bellows all connect to the throttle boy has everything aligned and conected with just enough length. if i add a spacer, which will move everything else back (or forward - depends upon how you are looking at it) an additional inch or so, how does everything else line up properly ? are folks using a shorter bellows ?
