Today, me and some buddies installed the new Vararam today. I also opted for the precut shroud, and throttle body spacer. Keeping all the stock parts just in case I need to go back to stock. I took my time, prolly too much time, and the install took about 2 hours, although I know it has been done way quicker. The only tricky part was getting the old shroud out. As for the product, I like the construction, and fit is just right. I can feel a differance already in throttle response, and performance. I plan to give the system time to adjust and maybe get some new track times soon, and I need to wash it. ;-)

My C6 Coupe is my daily driver and I am deathly afraid of hydrolocking my engine if I drive through a DEEP Puddle. In fact, the other day someone going the other way hit a puddle and a wall of water came towards my car, it really made me think WHAT IF.......
I still think for the money, the VARARAM provides the BEST GAINS of any aftermarket modification.
Average gains are 0.2 and 2mph, but some people have seen 0.3 to 0.5 and over 4mph in the 1/4
If I had the ***** I would reorder a Vararam and Bullets
I've got a Vararam on my C5 and it's scoops are just as low and I've never had a problem driving in heavy rain. You just need to be careful if driving through very deep water, but how often are you going to do that? If you've got flooding in your area after a heavy rain you are safer to stay home no matter what kind of car you drive.
When I get a C6 I wanted to put on a Vararam too, however that scoop sits right where our front licence plate will be so I won't be able to get one!
Nice install. By the way, Howard, I had a Vortex air box & then I put a Vararam on my C5. Couldn't really feel any difference between the two, but, I always felt alot better in the rain with the Vararam. The car turned in the mid 12's with both. When I have enough saved up, I'm putting one in my C6. I don't think I'll get the shroud though. All that I've heard & read is that it's more of a PITA than it's worth. Just be careful cutting...that's all.
Nice job man...fellow pharmacist (UHCOP class of 05) here in Temple TX...have had my VY 06 C6 M6 Z51 for several months now. So far only have the bullets but looking at getting the vararam very soon. Enjoy man.
I heard the shroud is easier to get out the top contrary to the directions, but it is definitely easier to cut the shroud that is in the car, just be careful.
I still think I am gonna leave the car stock and see what it does at the track before attemting any mods.
i take a lot of pills just kidding i have had the vr and spacer a long time no problems and i have the original one. Howard i drive in rain and hit puddles all the time no problems.

Your not too far away from San Antonio mang. I was class of '05 too. Nice to see some fellow members of the pharmacy field enjoying their Vettes.
As far as getting the shroud out, I did end up taking it out the top, but installed the new pre-cut one by sliding up from the bottom. Go figure.
