External Door release switch
There are a number of folks who have replaced the black door handle guard with the body colored guard. In doing so on my car to day, I noticed that the switch pad had one oblong key and one round key, but the handle and swithch pad locations were opposite - almost as if (and maybe it is) the pads were installed on the wrong side at the assembly plant.
Does anyone know if the switch pads are interchangable, that is will the left fit the right and vice versa - electrically. Thanks, JD

Just checked my '05 coupe. The electronic touch pad on the drivers side has the rectangular hole on the top of the pad, the matching (color or black) exterior part has the rectangular hole at the top for the drivers side. the drivers side/passengers side are not interchangeable, they are mirror images. Try using the piece you are trying to fit to the drivers side exterior on the passenger side and vice/versa.
