Finally made it to the dyno today to check for gains from my moded intake manifold. Cory Harris prepared the manifold and installed it a couple of weeks ago. Iv'e driven it a few times since the install, and there seemed to be a SOP increase in performance. Here are the results:
1. initial baseline results, 397.6 HP, 375.8 TQ
2. w/Cory Harris maniflod, 404.3 HP, 385.6 TQ
***** power, + 6.7, Torque, + 9.8
Three pulls were made on each of the sessions. These are the best of the pulls, with the others being a couple HP off. The difference that I felt was obviously the gain in torque, which was fairly consistent throughout the range. Nice gains for the money spent, and the car was not cut up. I recommend this guys work. Thanks Cory
It's a very mild mod motor. 243 heads with new LS 6 valves, dual springs/ti retainer kit from A&A, cleaned and blended intake and exhaust bowls (but not guides), smooth and open exhaust ports slightly, premium valve job, milled heads 0.008. Comp cam, lifters and pushrods (A&A's propritary 220/224 @ 0.050, 114 LS), LG pro's w/ metal matrix hi-flow cats and stock mufflers, Halltech stinger CAI and mail away tune, Ktech oil pump and timing chain.
The best part about the car is that the personality of the car has remained pretty much intact, and the LG's and stock mufflers make it sound like a real corvette (sounds very angry at WOT). Sometimes less is more. Kind of answers the question; what if they made a Z06 in 2005?
I'm hoping for 400rwhp with a ported intake that will be going on soon as well. Mods in sig with my car sitting at 396/383 at the wheels (dynojet numbers SAE).
I have one too, But the peak numbers don't tell the entire story, if your graph is like mine I gained 8-15 HP on the way to my peak numbers. Looks like Cory has the system down
