Fender Protection?

Fender Protection?
For those of you who work on your own car, what do you find best for protecting the front fenders when working in the engine bay? Is there something better than those foam-backed fender covers that have been around for years?

Those foam backed fender liners work for me, but I do put a terry cloth or something underneath it.
